Members of the Department for Mineral and Recycling Technologies are dedicated to the education of future experts in the field of mineral processing and recycling technologies and sustainable development. However, they are also committed to the scientific research. This commitment is achieved through participation in a great number of international and national projects, organization of symposiums and publishing of scientific journals.
The Symposium “Recycling Technologies and Sustainable Development” was first organized in 2006 as a national symposium with international participation in order to form a forum for the exchange of the scientific and technical achievements in the field regarding current problems in recycling technology and sustainable development. In 2015 the symposium became international and it was named International Symposium on Recycling Technologies and Sustainable Development. Following modern trends in the field of processing of primary raw materials and different types of waste, the topic of the symposium is extended, and from 2019, the symposium is being organized as International Mineral Processing and Recycling Conference.
Student’s Symposium is also organized within this Symposium, thus offering the opportunity to all undergraduate students from Serbia and other countries to demonstrate gained knowledge and obtained research results in the field of mineral processing, as well as recycling technologies and sustainable development.
In order to draw attention to recycling and sustainable development, the Department started publishing new national journal Recycling & Sustainable Development in 2008. Considering universality and significance of the topic, the journal has been published in English since 2017. The members of the Department are also editors of the Journal of Mining and Metallurgy: Section A.
